Noah Kagan is Chief Sumo and founder of Sumo.com and AppSumo.com, which now do over 8-figures a year. He blogs about his personal and business experiences at OkDork.com, and his new podcast is called Noah Kagan Presents.

Noah has built up a number of successful businesses and is always toying with new ideas or looking for the next big business opportunity, so he was the perfect person to brainstorm with.

If you’re stuck at the business idea generation phase or pulling the trigger on your ideas, this episode is going to give you food for thought. Noah is a master at this stuff and doesn’t sugarcoat anything.

And if you already have an idea you’re sitting on, he explains exactly how he validates his own ideas before moving forward and what steps you need to take.

Don’t be afraid of failure either. “I’ve never actually met someone who has made money or grown successful businesses that hasn’t had things that didn’t work out,” Noah said.

Tune in to hear how Noah comes up with interesting and unique business ideas, how he validates them, and how he splits his time between content creation and marketing.

  1. Enjoyed this episode a lot! I’m a big fan of Noah’s work and his new podcast (and totally addicted to AppSumo deals!) It was a lot of fun each time Noah subtly turned the tables and started interviewing YOU.

  2. Nick,
    Great episode with Noah!
In the spirit of getting to it, let’s talk ebikes. There were a couple of comments from your conversation that got me thinking about a good bike for you. My last consult resulted in a happy customer.

    Thanks,
    Jerold

    • Yep. Couple reasons. First, I’ve got parents listening with their kids, and second, an explicit rating can block your podcast from entire countries in iTunes. For me that’s worth bleeping.

  3. Hi Nick!
Loved this episode! As someone who just got into cycling for my Tris, I hear Noah on the complexities of bike shopping! My best advice is to hit up competitive cyclist. Poor Eric (one of their reps) spent forever answering all my questions and getting me in the right direction.
Also, kudos on keeping your podcast “clean” the choice is yours!
    Happy Hustles,
    Ash
