Side Hustle Nation™ was founded in 2013 by Nick Loper (that’s me!).
After building a side hustle to the point I was able to quit my full-time corporate job, I got excited about sharing this lower-risk brand of entrepreneurship with the world.
I was confident I could help other people make more money and live better lives.
Along the way, this little side project became a full-time business in itself.
Today, the site reaches millions of visitors a year, and tens of thousands more subscribe to The Side Hustle Show podcast and email newsletter. I love serving the Side Hustle Nation community and helping them improve their financial well-being.
As a business, Side Hustle Nation makes money in several ways, including:
- The sale of our own digital products, primarily courses and books.
- Sponsorships of the podcast and email newsletter
- Affiliate partnerships
That last one — affiliate partnerships — isn’t always obvious.
How Affiliate Marketing Works
As an affiliate, I earn referral commissions when you buy a product or sign up for a service through my specific tracking link. There’s no extra cost to you to do so, but it’s something you should know about when browsing the site.
For example, if I talk about email marketing, I’ll often mention my email marketing service, ActiveCampaign. If you sign up for ActiveCampaign through my link, I’ll earn a commission.
How We Choose Affiliate Partners
I carefully vet and screen all affiliate partners before they ever get written about on the site. Most of the products and services I use myself first.
When that isn’t possible or feasible, I rely on a consensus of third-party reviews, interviews with users, and interactions with the company or provider itself to form an opinion and recommendation.
