UPDATE: I requested to get paid through my business bank account, rather than my personal, and Clickworker abruptly deactivated my account. To reinstate it, they want a copy of my passport, a bank statement, my social security card, and my first-born son.
Clickworker is a website and app that pays your for completing short tasks.
This could be things like data entry, content creation, or web research.
Clickworker is a legit, easy side hustle to get started with, but doesn’t pay a ton.
Clickworker is a legit micro jobs app and website, where you can earn money for a wide variety of one-off tasks. It won't replace your day job but is an easy way to make some extra money in your spare time.
- Easy tasks
- Interesting variety of work
- Get paid real money (not points or gift cards)
- Many tasks pay very little
- Confusing or inaccurate job descriptions
- Can be time-consuming
It’s not going to replace your day job, and that’s OK — it’s not intended to.
Here’s what we learned during our Clickworker review and trial.
How Clickworker Works
Clickworker pays you to do small online jobs, or “microtasks.”
These are things like:
- AI training
- surveys and research
- voice recording
- video recording
- photo contests
- text creation
- app testing
- mystery visits
You can register with Clickworker on your desktop or by downloading the app to your phone.
(You’ll need the app either way to confirm your account — even if you sign up on your computer.)
Luckily, the Clickworker app is well-rated in both the Google Play and Apple App Stores.
Once registered, you’ll need to:
- provide your address and payment details
- complete your Clickworker profile
- add permissions for notifications (and location if using your smartphone)
How to Make Money With Clickworker
On the Workplace page, you’ll see current available jobs/tasks, along with:
- job description and pay
- how many jobs are available
- how much time is allowed to complete the job (4 hours is standard, but most won’t take nearly this long)
- number of days until payout (some jobs are paid instantly, while others can take up to 30 days for approval)
Here are some of the types of jobs you might see.
Or these from partner platforms:
Some jobs are only available through the Clickworker app, and those include tasks like:
- video creation
- photo capturing
Clicking a job panel will take you to the job details page, which may have more info about the task.
Once you decide you want the job, click the “Start job” button, which will take you to the job.
How Much Does Clickworker Pay?
Payment for Clickworker jobs varies widely, with most being within the $0.02 – $7.00 range.
Most survey tasks pay poorly, but at least they give you an estimate of how long each will take before you start:
Some jobs are one-off jobs you can do only once.
Others are repeating jobs that you can do until they’ve all been taken.
As with other microtask sites, it’s important to think of these jobs in terms of their expected hourly rate to put them in perspective. Is it really worth it to be toiling away for $1.33 an hour?
Our independent app tester sent in this screenshot of some of his earnings:
Testing Out Clickworker Jobs
The easiest way to see what kind of jobs are available on Clickworker is to register and download the app and start looking around.
Here are some examples our app tester found. We’ll let you hear directly from them.
(He’s in Europe, so the currency is Euros.)
Photo and Video Jobs
The first job I decided to check out required a 5-second video to be recorded, ‘with up to 40 videos possible’.
It claimed that €24 (about $26) in earnings was possible for this project, which involved pronouncing a phrase.
The pay was 60 cents per video, which seemed fair — until I realized it needed two workers to do the job!
I was disappointed, as somebody else had to record you for the 5-second video.
There were only two jobs available and it was hardly worth bothering someone else over anyway, so I had to pass on this one.
AI Training Jobs
The next one up was “Upload 3 short videos to help train an authentication app”, which paid €1.50.
It had a 30-day hold to validate.
I had to upload three 20-second videos of my face while moving it towards my webcam three times.
It was a very easy and well-paid job.
Next on the list was “Help train an authentication application (Capture ID address)”, paying €1.25 with a 30-day approval time.
I reluctantly decided to provide a scan of my drivers license, only to later find that a driver’s license or passport were NOT acceptable documents, despite the job description page saying so.
Waste of time.
Image Assessments
The next job I tried looked more to my liking, as it didn’t involve photography and paid out instantly: “Examine the severity of vehicle damage”.
I had to look at a 21-page PDF showing photos of vehicles with damage.
Then I had to compare the damage to a number of other vehicles.
Good project.
I rated six cars for damage, which was fun, but confusing — the photo examples didn’t match the images I had to rate.
But only 2 jobs were rejected and I made 8c.
Search Engine Testing
Another one I did was “Find the picture, view the page and upload screenshots as proof! (UK)” for 15c.
This entailed going to Google Images, finding a picture, and taking a screenshot as proof.
I got paid immediately for this simple task.
The next one was to type in a search term and look for an image matching the one displayed on the job page.
That one paid instantly as well.
I found most of the jobs could be performed within the estimated time.
Mobile Studies on Clickworker
Most mobile-only studies are listed with descriptions on the main website.
The first study I came across was titled “As the sun shines again and it gets greener every day take the chance to earn up to €3.00! Go outside and take on the perspective of a lawnmower while filming. It’s fun!”: This paid €1.50 per video with three videos allowed and an earnings cap of €3.
Unfortunately, my camera quality was too low resolution, so I had to I wasn’t able to complete it.
Here are some of the other app jobs I saw:
I did see another well paying (and interesting) job.
It called for measuring your body parts and paid €11 (about $12).
There were 496 jobs available, but by the time I got around to it, they were gone.
Looks like I missed out on a good opportunity!
“Show us your Driving Licence from UK!” at €4.50 (about $5) would have been a good job for me, but I didn’t want to give out my personal information.
Mobile Jobs on Partner Site CPX
Clickworker promotes several websites and apps on both desktop and mobile platforms.
One of these is CPX, which is unique because it’s available only on mobile and features a scrolling gallery of jobs halfway down the page.
CPX offers “instant jobs” with no briefings or preparation needed.
The pay ranges from a few cents to about €1 per job, and there are many jobs available.
I completed two surveys, including one on poker sites, and easily earned €2.
I like CPX because they pay out immediately to your Clickworker account.
Additionally, the surveys took the amount of time advertised, isn’t always common.
UHRS Jobs (Mobile and Desktop)
UHRS is another app for microtasks promoted by Clickworker. Clickworker provides the login info.
Before you can start doing jobs, there is a simple qualifying test focusing on basic English skills.
But right up front, I’d say don’t even bother. It really is such a pain in so many ways. I managed to get through one task, but it was tough.
One good thing is that any earnings will be paid to your Clickworker account, and most jobs can be done on either mobile or desktop.
There is a desktop app for accessing exclusive jobs but it failed to download on the (required) Edge browser.
Maybe just user error? Not sure.
UHRS jobs are known as HITS.
Each job listing might have 5-300 HITS available and pay from 2c – 80c per HIT.
They estimate it takes between 7 seconds and 3 minutes per HIT.
Tasks available at the time of looking included:
- “Identify News Search Query Result Relevance: Is the webpage valid and relevant? – Check if a web page is valid and relevant to a query and its related query (or queries)”
- “Bug Bounty Hunters Extension (English: Great Britain)”
- “Help us improve the quality of Microsoft’s web properties! Get paid to test and find technical bugs in Bing Search, Bing Maps, MSN, Edge and more”
This last one looked to be an interesting activity, but it required reading a 30-page instructional PDF before even starting the job, and this step can’t be skipped if you want to complete the HITS properly.
UHRS might be worth it, but I didn’t think so.
Many users have reported consistent rejection of HITS despite their best efforts, and it’s hard to find anything positive to say about it.
In any event, I’d say it’s mostly for technical folks with plenty of patience.
Mystery Shopping Gigs
Another interesting section of the Clickworker app is for in-store visits. Since these require driving, the pay is often much higher.
For example, this drug store photo capturing job was paying $44 plus a 25% bonus:
(I saw gigs as high as $88 to take some pictures at a Dollar General!)
These photo jobs are estimated to take an hour — not counting drive time — but can still amount to a pretty strong hourly rate. And even better if you can stack a few up in the same area or while you’re out running regular errands.
While they’re more time-consuming than most of the tasks on an app like Field Agent, the pay is quite a bit better as well.
Clickworker Payout Options
Clickworker automatically pays out weekly via PayPal, Payoneer, or ACH — once you hit the $10 or €10 minimum balance.
How to Maximize Your Clickworker Earnings
Based on our experience, here’s how to make the most from your Clickworker time.
Focus on the Highest Paying Gigs
Keep an eye on the estimated hourly rate, and have a minimum threshold in mind for the jobs you’ll tackle.
Sometimes you’ll see limited-time offers, like that Dollar General example above.
Join the Clickworker Facebook Group
You may also find bonus events, tips, and worker support on the Clickworker Facebook group.
Complete Your Profile
The more info you provide, the better Clickworker will be able to match you with relevant jobs.
Read the Instructions Carefully
I had a voice recording gig rejected because I didn’t fully read the instructions. I was supposed to repeat a phrase 3 times, but failed to leave the required 2 seconds of silence in between each repetition.
Refer Your Friends
Clickworker runs a referral program for which you can earn a $5 referral bonus for each new Clickworker who joins and reaches the $10 payout threshold.
What We Liked About Clickworker
Ok, so after testing Clickworker, here are our thoughts.
One good thing about Clickworker is the variety of tasks available.
Not everything will suit all Clickworkers, but there is a wide range of ways to earn money.
And making the minimum cash-out amount can be quick.
Customer service support is excellent, earnings are trackable, and working from your phone or computer is handy.
But it’s not all positive…
What We Disliked About Clickworker
We found some job descriptions to be inaccurate with what was actually required once the job was started.
Having to copy and paste text when performing jobs is a very slight inconvenience, as is needing to confirm login to the desktop app on mobile.
A 30-day waiting time for approval for some jobs is a bit of a minus.
Clickworker Alternatives
Swagbucks
Swagbucks is a recognized leader in the online survey space. The long-running app has paid out hundreds of millions of dollars to users over the years.
You can earn rewards for shopping online, answering surveys, playing games, and watching videos (read: ads). Cash out for gift cards from major retailers.

KashKick
KashKick is a newer app that pays you to answer surveys, test new games (up to $150 each!), and redeem money-saving offers.
With the slogan “get paid to have fun,” KashKick is rated 4.3-stars in the Google Play store.
FlexJobs
FlexJobs is better for finding a legit, longer-term, work from home job, but is still worth mentioning here.
The best place to find legit work from home jobs. Established in 2007, FlexJobs has 1000s of listings including part-time, full-time, and freelance options in tons of industries.
The site has more than 50 career categories and thousands of pre-vetted listings.
There is a nominal monthly fee to access their listings, but you’ll earn that back (and then some!) with one job.

Amazon Mechanical Turk
The best-known microtasking site is Amazon’s Mechanical Turk. The long-running site offers a similar variety of “Human Intelligence Tasks,” to Clickworker — along with similarly low payouts.
That said, if you’re dedicated to it and have nothing better to do, those earnings can add up.
Toloka
Like Clickworker, Toloka doesn’t pay particularly well, but does have an easy-to-use interface and you can cash out starting at just $0.02.
Here’s our full Toloka review if you want to learn more.
Clickworker Summary
Clickworker is a legit way to make a bit of money on the side.
Is it the best option to make the most money?
No.
There are plenty of other side hustle ideas and money making apps out there if you’d like to make more money.
But it is pretty easy, and you can do most tasks from home.
Yes, you may have to wait a month to get paid for some jobs, but there are plenty of others that pay out immediately.
And what you get paid is very fair.
So, if you have the extra time and want to trade some of it for extra cash, Clickworker might be a good fit for you.
